Michael Chertoff was confirmed 95 to 1 to the U.S Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. The only vote against him was Hillary Rotten Clinton, why he was on the panel for White water.


Argh! Isn't the right to face your accuser one of the basic rights established at the founding of the US? Along with the right to trial by jury...oops, that one seems to be gone too. I guess the Bush administration finds the US Constitution just as "quaint" as the Geneva Convention.


I didn't even mention the Whitewater thing -- even though it was one of the very few cases he'd actually litigated, odd for a seat on the bench. And I don't know what his past and likely future confirmations say about what the Senate thinks of the Constitution.
